Project Overview.
Helix played a key role in producing, editing, and installing projections that authentically depicted the daily lives of the Mary Rose ship’s crew during its historical voyages. These immersive visualisations brought to life the dual roles of the crew in times of both peace and war, with the projections carefully installed within the ship’s original cabins, offering a deeply engaging and historically accurate experience.
Production Process.
- Pre-Production: Collaborated closely with historians and curators to ensure the accuracy of the visual narratives. The scenes were carefully researched and scripted to reflect both the peaceful and combative aspects of life aboard the Mary Rose, ensuring a historically faithful representation of the crew’s experiences.
- Production & Editing: Created detailed visualizations that portrayed the ship’s crew in action, capturing their daily routines and battle preparations. These vignettes were shot and edited to seamlessly integrate with the historical setting.
- Installation: Projections were strategically placed within the ship’s reconstructed cabins, aligning with the actual spaces where the crew lived and worked, providing an immersive and authentic visitor experience.
